Actually, I don't think it would be a major step forward. I agree with you about the Republicans; anybody would be better than Trump even though the Republican party is solidly for the rich and against everybody else. But as to the Democrats? I wish Biden were younger and a stronger speaker, but he has managed to accomplish more than any president since Roosevelt got us Social Security and a minimum, living wage for workers and has done so with two Democrats acting like Republicans making the slim Democratic majority meaningless. I'm not sure anybody else at that level in politics could have accomplished as much, and if voters give Biden a Democratic House and Senate next time around, we actually may see some real progress toward a government of, by, and for the people. Or if they vote for a third party, we may have Trump again.
