America's wealth is never going to be distributed equally, and this article didn''t propose an equal distribution. Actually, the article didn't really propose any distribution; it just pointed out the amount of wealth inequality we have. And that amount is enough to leave every rich person with $3 million dollars and everybody with whatever they have plus about $400,000. Not $2. (You are right that the article is a mathematical exercise--but it was done to point out the ever-increeasing wealth inequality in this country.)
