Good question. I just read all the comments and didn't find an answer. I certainly don't have an answer. I grew up in Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas in a time when segregation was legal and considered proper and where some of the parents of my classmates could not even read. The ignorance was astonishing, but not as astonishing as the ignorance I see today in Trump's followers.
