Having as a kid in school been subjected to such as you describe, I do know they're out there. I would argue that they've already been exposed to violence and have learned how to turn it on other people and benefit from it themselves. At tht point, it is difficult to knw what to do, but it probably is the case that counseling by somebody good at counseling will be more successful at stopping it then beating on the kid.
