‘Hell No!’ versus ‘Oh No!’

I have to credit a voter in Phoenix, AZ, with the title of this article. After last night’s presidential debate, this man was interviewed by an NBC news correspondent. He said something you can now see on YouTube:

“The feeling I had inside was Trump, Hell No! He lied through the whole thing. And Biden is, like, Oh No! He is really in a bad … shaky … can he even run in the rest of the election or take the White House again? I just don’t see how that could work.”

After watching the debate, I was so disappointed that I felt sick. I’ll bet I’m not the only Medium writer or reader who felt the same way.

Today as I’m writing this, I’m also listening to Biden on the TV at some event. Surprise! The man is speaking as capably, confidently, and forcefully as he did in the State of the Union address in March.

What the hell happened last night? And does one bad night matter?

I learned from an MSNBC news correspondent earlier today that Biden was suffering from a cold last night. Not COVID, which is making a comeback; just a cold.
