I think tariffs might be a good idea if introduced slowly and in conjunction with encouraging American business to take up the slack--as Harris intends to do with tax benefits to business startups. But Trump apparently thinks he'll be punishing China with tariffs, so if he wins the presidency, we're all in trouble.
