I haven't set the publication up for Goodreads reviews. The idea was that you list your low-cost eBook and then, you buy another Medium writer's low-cost eBook on Amazon and review it. Meanwhile, other authors list their books, buy various other writers' low-cost eBooks and review them. That gives everybody Verified Customer Reviews--though anybody can use Kindle Unlimited to read for free and then write a nonverified review. I set up the publication after joining a site outside Medium where you have to pay $20 a month to subscribe and then you have to buy eBooks and review them. That site is doing very well, so I figured trading purchases on a free site would do at least just as well. As you point out, there is that $50 purchase required. I didn't know it was annual, but even so, $50 a year is quite a bit less than the $240 that this stuff costs outside Medium.
Maybe I should set the site up for Goodreads. I checked it out a while back and disliked everything about it, but it would be an option.
First, however, I've got to get people to review books. So far, 37 people have listed their books for reviews, but only two of us have reviewed any books--plus one reviewer who is not an author. So, writing more articles about reviewing books is my next priority.
Do you have a book to list?
