I suppose it's good that you're writing about plastics. I got concerned about micro- and nano-plastics five years ago, spent a year working with a small community of concerned people researching possible solutions, found one that has been implemented in a number of countries outside the U.S., tried to talk with influential people in my state about the problem and the possible solution--and got absolutely nowhere. I suppose I could write about my failure (for example, we could not get a grant to study the solution because the computer application that was used by the DEQ had a field in which to enter what was being studied, and that field did not include "plastic"). Ah, well. I suppose it's good that you're writing about plastics.
