I was an editor for Politically Speaking for a year or so. It was, as you say, time-consuming, emotionally (and mentally) exhausting, and financially idiotic. But when the chief editor of the publication quit and asked me if I wanted to take over, I found I wasn't all that addicted to it. But addiction is a factor. I'm now trying to get Reviews for Medium Featured Books out of the starting gate.
