I would phrase this problem of inferior writers getting all the attention this way: "Too many people identify as writers without acquiring a writerly command of the language or the knowledge they could gain through study and observation and could then impart to readers." Such "writers" either pander to those who own the means of communication or are not well-read except by other (as you say) inferior writers. They are not equipped to take control of the conversation. However, perhaps reading articles like yours will encourage them to become real writers who can and do contribute to making the world a better place for us all.
