A “No AI” badge is now available for Medium writers to add to their stories

Hello. I’m Katharine Valentino, creator of the “No AI” badge you see pictured above. I also created a smaller version of the badge, which you can see at the end of this story.

Your reader will know that you had an idea for this story. You felt strongly about the idea and wanted to write about it in a way that would reveal a truth and be a satisfying read. You wanted to contribute to your readers’ knowledge and well-being.

An AI text generator cannot contribute anything. It can only respond to commands. As a robot — a machine — it has no ideas or emotions, and it does not and cannot care about its readers. Only you, a human writer, can care about what your readers care about.
