If a story is on your personal blog and you also publish it on Medium, you need to set a "canonical link" on Medium to indicate that the URL on your blog is to be the searchable URL and the URL on Medium is to be ignored. To do this, while editing the story, before publishing it, go to the menu (three dots at upper right) > More Settings > Advanced Settings > Customize Canonical Link.
