Keeping them away from public policy would be good, but it would have to be done by voting them out--or not voting them in. Any other method could be used by both good and bad people against each other. (Even legal remedies aren't working. For example, Trump is being allowed to run again for President despite this being in violation of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution.)
