My opinion of "Indians who have advanced US degrees and are obviously equally, if not more competent, than counterpart Americans" is the same as my opinion of any person. If they are nice people doing good things for their families and their society, I'm happy to be around them and happy for them.
As to whom Musk was mouthing off, I found sources indicating it was Loomer, Mackey, and Bannon. I went with Bannon, but, prompted by your comment, have done further research and now think it was Mackey. I do find the quote in response to a post by Mackey and also to various other posts by different people. So, I've edited that section of the article. Thank you for pointing out the need for this correction.
It is true that H1-b has changed since the 1990s, as most things have. However, workers brought in from other countries who can be deported back to those countries if they are not willing to work under unsafe condiitons and where they are not respected has apparently changed only somewhat.
