Oh dear! I don't want to resign myself to this disappointment and frustration either, but the best I've been able to come up is "I'm old. I can't do anything about any of these things. Except maybe vote. Maybe that'll do a (very) little good." And I've tried writing about it, the latest article published in Crow's Feet just today at https://medium.com/crows-feet/why-your-grandchildren-dont-see-a-future-for-themselves-3f28b42a7b93. Crow's Feet because we who write about politics need to write for nonpolitical publications. The article is pollyannish, but I don't know how else to suggest a solution.
