Redistribution of wealth is what has been happening for more than 50 years, with the result that the rich are now obscenely rich and the middle class are all but gone.. To enact legislation requiring that the obscenely wealthy pay more of their fair share is more properly characterized as giving back to the people what was stolen from them.
