Sixty years ago, this is how I made coffee.

…he years to come. I now knew why my mom was drinking coffee every morning when I got up for school. We would put a pot of water on the stove, bring it to a boil, and then toss in the coffee grounds. After the coffee boiled for a few minutes, we would sprinkle cold water on the surface to make the swirling grounds sink to the bottom of the pot. Then we poured the fresh coffee into our cups.
