I, too, was ... is "incensed" too strong a word? ... when I read that not putting the who-what-when-where in the first paragraph causes readers to quit after the first paragraph. It's just not true (I hope), at least for many readers. We all think and live stories. Stories are what speak to us, not just facts. Matter of fact, strories usually speak louder than facts. Thus, feature articles, movies, novels, etc.
