The lack of forethought about this might lead one to believe that the founding fathers were so principled and so far removed from ordinary living that it never occurred to them that a wanton or incarcerated criminal could become president. It would be good, now that we know for a fact that this can happen, if the Constitution were amended during the next presidential term (by Harris and a Democratic Senate and House).
