The legally accepted method for applying for asylum here is to enter the country without papers and request asylum. I realize it is popular among Republicans to call these people as "illegals"--to stir up your anger against them, which seems to have worked. But calling people names does 't make them whatever you call them. They become actual illegals only if their asylum requests are denied and they remain in the country.
