This reader's skill with applications goes way back to classic ASP and ends with the end of that stuff, which is also approximately when I retired. I read this because it was very well written, interesting and clear enough for me to follow, and I'm now convinced that working backward is the way to go. Not that I'll ever go in either direction again.
