But you have got me thinking about this. I wrote an article recently (at https://medium.com/writers-blokke/why-would-a-word-that-once-meant-suffering-now-be-used-in-your-workplace-20ee4b890222) about my own experience working during the squid economy in its development stage--without even knowing that such descriptive label would be applied to it later. I'm now seeing the results of a "vampire squid" economy on several young people with whom I'm close.
