You are right that he did make that claim. I think he thought that Republicans would be decent human beings willing to improve peoples' lives. I don't think he lied about that; I think he was just deceived. It is hard to think that an entire political party has become dedicated to nothing other than more money for the rich.

As to the problems he helped to create, please enlighten me. What problems, specifically, when and exactly how did he help to create them?

I don't think he's a wonderful person, but the alternative was truly evil, and there were only two, either the Republican and the Democrat, to choose from That's how our system works.
