You are right: The badge can be used fraudulently by someone to get published. However, I don't think writers will use it to get published on Medium since anybody can get published on Medium, All Medium wants is a statement that you are using an AI text generator if you are using one. Using this badge makes the opposite statement. Neither statement can be taken as proof.
