You are right when you say the U.S. has always been a plutocracy. However, even the organizations that evaluate the political stance of countries called it a democracy up until recently because people could vote--even though they were voting for electors, because the electors were voting as the people voted--even if they didn't have to, and because gerrymandering was not so rampant. Now, however, no such organization that I could find is labeling the U.S. a democracy.

What countries have you visited where people still thing the U.S. is the good guy in the world? I thought by now most everybody in the world was aware of the corruption here.
